4/20 Event to Honor Reggae Legend and Legalized Cannabis

Today is the launch of a virtual festival honoring the legendary Peter Tosh. The event will also shine a light on the push to legalize global cannabis. Tosh wrote “Legalize It.” The song is a cannabis anthem that has been the background music for the legalization movement for over 40 years.

International Peter Tosh Day (#PeterTosh420) celebrates the cannabis activist and reggae artist. Tosh is a founding member of The Wailers, Bob Marley’s band, and a Grammy winner. Toshwas also a staunch advocate in a series of anti-apartheid campaigns. He spoke for the voiceless and advocated for the liberation of Africa.

The festival looks to safely bring everyone together for a virtually connected celebration. It will feature prominent cannabis growers, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts, licensed distributors, culinary infusion artists, policy makers, legal and medical professionals, and various artists and celebrities.

The plan is for #PeterTosh420 to reach its audience across multiple social and virtual platforms, including:

On April 19th and the 20th, online tours at CORE Cannabis Social Justice Museum
Broadcast on Facebook Live with host Niambe Tosh
Broadcast on Instagram Live with Peter Tosh’s granddaughter, Akayda Tosh, hosting
