CRP Addresses Misunderstandings Surrounding Berner/Cookies Lawsuit, Expresses Confidence in Brand Integrity

Clearing the Air on CRP’s Lawsuit

COOKIES Retail Products (CRP), a licensee of the COOKIES brand, has released a voluntary statement to address recent press coverage on a lawsuit filed on their behalf in 2023. The statement aims to clarify the status of CRP’s suit and to emphasize their confidence in the COOKIES brand and its leadership.

Voluntary Dismissal of Allegations

CRP acknowledges the negative light cast on the COOKIES brand and its CEO and co-founder, Gilbert Milam Jr (aka “Berner”), and President Parker Berling. The company has voluntarily dismissed all suits and claims, expressing regret for any misunderstandings caused by their allegations. CRP has sought to seal and dismiss the allegations to preserve the integrity of the COOKIES brand and partnership.

Understanding the Context

Upon discovering additional information, CRP realized the suit was filed prematurely. The allegations were found to be incorrect due to the unavailability of critical information and context at the time of filing. CRP is unaware of any unethical behavior by Berner, Berling, or Cookies’ management. They have never implicated or named Berner in any action, nor claimed that he has conducted himself unprofessionally.

Confidence in COOKIES’ Leadership

CRP’s CEO and founder states their utmost confidence in Parker, Berner, and the Cookies leadership team and their partners. The company acknowledges that certain third parties influenced the filing of the suit based on allegations that were later proven untrue. CRP took immediate steps to rectify the mistake by dismissing the suit and expressing confidence in the ethics and integrity of Parker, Berner, and Cookies.

Looking Ahead: Collaboration and Growth

CRP continues to collaborate with Cookies, expressing their sincere desire to move forward productively. They view the mischaracterization of their closed legal action as shameful and opportunistic, particularly in light of recent positive growth for both brands. CRP wishes Parker, Berner, and Cookies the best in the future.

CBD Industry’s Promising Outlook

CRP’s leadership emphasizes the CBD industry’s potential, predicting that it will soon surpass energy and functional beverages as the most successful new category in retail history. CRP’s approved programs, including the COOKIES licensed branding initiative, will fill voids in product format and consumer demand. This collaboration positions CRP and their retail partners to take full advantage of the retail opportunities offered by CBD products.
