Rapper Lil Baby Held in Paris for Cannabis During Fashion Week

7:32 AM PT7/9 — Law enforcement sources told TMZ,  Lil Baby has been released … he’ll have to pay French authorities a fine.

6:03 pM PT7/8 –Lil Baby has reportedly been detained and possibly arrested in Paris. According to the prosecutor’s office in Paris, the entertainer and another man are being held for transporting drugs.

Newspaper Le Parisien reports law enforcement decided to inspect a vehicle that smelled of weed. The video is currently on Twitter and apparently shows the vehicle search was righteous.Who the car belonged to has not been disclosed.

The rapper was enjoying Paris Fashion Week with NBA star and good friend James Harden. The pro baller was recently photographed with Lil Baby arriving at an event at Balenciaga. Harden also received a producer’s credit on Voice of the Hero, Lil Baby’s new record.

Harden was questioned by police with another man. In videos taken by bystanders, Harden is heard saying he didn’t understand what was happening.

Reps with the prosecutor said the 31-year-old Harden has not been arrested or placed in custody. Citing the ongoing investigation, the prosector had no other comment about Harden’s involvement.

This is not the 26-year-old rapper’s first brush with the law. He served two years for a probation violation.

The rapper’s real name is Dominique Armani Jones. Out of Atlanta, Lil Baby has three Grammy nominations under his belt. He also boasts a variety of nominations and wins with the American Music Awards, ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Lil Baby hit mainstream success in 2017 with his mixtape Perfect Timing. His first studio release, Harder Than Ever, reached number six on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 2018 and eventually went platinum.

No one in Lil Baby’s camp has provided a statement regarding Lil Baby’s situation.
