Berner Announces Battle With Cancer Is Over And He’s Back to Business

Cookies CEO Berner announced that he is “cancer-free” after undergoing treatment for late-stage two colon cancer.

Berner, 38, posted on Instagram Friday, “The fight is nowhere close to over; it’s a lifelong battle, but currently, after my last tests, I’m cancer-free at the moment, and it feels great.“

In October, Berner revealed that he had found traces of cancer in a series of blood tests. “I was always transparent and shared my journey with you guys,” Berner said of learning the diagnosis. “So, instead of fighting this alone, I decided to enlist the help of the people who got me to where I am today.

Berner spoke about his fight with cancer during an interview with The Breakfast Club in December.  He explained the doctor removed a foot and a half part of his colon during the surgery, along with some lymph nodes surrounding it.

He also had to go through several chemos to recover finally. Although his blood tests and biopsy results were negative, his doctor advised him to undergo additional testing because the cancer might have spread to a new location due to its late stage.

Berner greeted fans Saturday morning at Cookies Maywood for his “Wake & Bake with Berner” event. Berner joined his partner in cultivation, Kenny Powerzzzup, cultivator behind fan-favorite “Gary Payton,” “2090 Shit”, and the newest strain, “Cereal al La Mode,” a cross between “Cereal Milk” and “Georgia Pie.”

The duo took pictures and signed autographs with every fan standing in line.

Cookies has made some of the biggest partnerships in cannabis, most recently partnering with Gumbo Brands. Berner has brand collaborations with Runtz, Gashouse, Seed Junky Genetics, Quavo, Rick Ross, Mike Epps, Ozuna, Snoop Dogg, and Gary Payton.
