Black Cannabis Magazine Collaborates MJBiz & Cookies to Advance Diversity in the Cannabis Industry

At this year‘s MJBizCon, Black Cannabis Magazine (BCM) is presenting a powerful combination of events, industry leaders and education on the topic of BIPOC representation in the cannabis industry.

Since 2011, MJBizCon has developed from a grassroots movement into a large-scale, four-day event featuring over 1400 vendors and 35,000 attendees. MJBiz is partnering with BCM in order to give an opportunity for BIPOC operators and entrepreneurs to network, learn and form fruitful relationships within the cannabis industry.

From November 16 to November 18, Black Cannabis Magazine is hosting a variety of panels and social gatherings to connect people with the leading figures in the effort of diversity and representation in the cannabis industry.

The founder of BCM, Haze Palmer, moderated and led the first all black panel at MJBizCon. Also known as “Hazey Taughtme”, he is the entrepreneurial mind behind Haze Ent. a marketing and branding company that helps business and entertainers. “I’m proud to align with MJBiz and so many brilliant  industry leaders and look forward to celebrating a bit,” says Haze. “We’re here to educate business leaders on the power of entrepreneurship in black and brown communities.”

On the 16th, Palmer was joined by Bonita Money and Freeway Rick Ross to moderate the panel Building on 2%: The State of BIPOC Cannabis and the Opportunities Ahead. Panelists featured the CEO of Kush Boys Worldwide, Jamal Weathers and Laquita Honeysucker, Civil Rights and Community Action at UFCW.

Wednesday’s events also included a private mixer sponsored by Gumbo. BCM hosted the event, whose sponsor shares a recent partnership with the international cannabis brand Cookies.

Cookies will also be co-sponsoring Today’s The Diversity Village Takeover Experience alongside Haze Hope Center, PolitiKan Broadcasting, W.A.T.C.H. The Culture and THC Metaverses Boycott Shitty Weed.

Diversity Village is a Metaverse that allows consumers to learn and immerse themselves in the cannabis brands and products of black and brown entrepreneurs. The Diversity Village Takeover will also host lectures, concerts and panels, and users can visit the Gallery and interact with educational materials, news, and previous issues of Black Cannabis Magazine.

Many star-studded names will be present at the Diversity Village Takeover, including Redman, Xzibit, Karim Butler and many others. On the 18th, a meet-and-greet with “D The Future” will be hosted by BCM at Cookies’ Flamingo in Las Vegas. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with Cookies leading brands, including Gashouse, Gumbo and Pure Blanco. Appearances from Alex Major, Luka Brazi, Felix Murray, Majix and Hazey Taughtme will also be set for the event. Black Cannabis Magazine is excited to spearhead this important and pivotal gathering of entrepreneurs and leaders in the cannabis industry with the help of MJBiz and Cookies.
