Black Cannabis Week ‘24: Empowerment & Celebration

The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities (DACO), is thrilled to share the exciting news of Black Cannabis Week (BCW) 2024!  Happening September 22nd – September 29th, 2024, Black Cannabis Week event organizers invite those all over the country and abroad to join them for an incredible week of education, celebration, and empowerment.

The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities and Black Cannabis Week

The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities is a community organization with a nonprofit fiduciary relationship with Marijuana Justice, a 501c3. Their main goal is to raise awareness about educational, wellness, and economic prospects in the cannabis industry across the diaspora. DACO strives to foster a balanced and thriving cannabis community that promotes physical and mental well-being.

Black Cannabis Week is one of DACO’s annual programming initiatives. It focuses on organizing cannabis events that span across the African diaspora. These events are hosted virtually and physically, offering opportunities for individuals to engage and participate. The primary aim of BCW is to provide a global platform that uplifts and empowers Black individuals within the cannabis industry, allowing their voices and contributions to be recognized and celebrated.

Black Cannabis Week 2024

This year, BCW is introducing the “unconference”  model; a dynamic and innovative approach to community engagement. Under the theme “Deeply Rooted, Growing Together,” BCW 2024 is set to cultivate a vibrant, inclusive cannabis community like never before.

The Daily Dose Tour

For the first time, BCW takes the show on the road with the Daily Dose Tour. DACO founder, BCW organizers, media partners, and sponsors will be traveling to Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey:
  • Sunday, September 22, Richmond Virginia: Uncover the History of Cannabis with Marijuana Justice.
  • Monday, September 23, Maryland: Discuss Adult & Juvenile Health with Life After Release.

  • Wednesday, September 25, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania: Dive Into the Hemp Industry with LA Cultura.
  • Thursday, September 26, Trenton, New Jersey: Support Cannabis for Veterans with Simply Pure Trenton.

The Daily Dose Tour will engage diverse communities in meaningful conversations across several states, providing a platform for connection and exploration of the latest developments in cannabis. Whether you’re joining virtually or in person, this is your chance to be a part of this inspiring journey!

As a critical partner, OnStagePlusMedia will stream the tour globally, allowing us to connect with up to 280 million viewers and amplify our mission of education-driven reparations and community growth. Vee the Traveling Cannabis Writer will document the impactful tour, ensuring our educational mission and stories of resilience are shared with a global audience.

BCW Cannabis Opportunities Conference

The in-person, main conference will be held at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. This is a free 3-day event with access to the general expo hall, in partnership with Senator Sharif Street. BCW is the only national conference dedicated to cannabis education for Black and Brown communities.

With over 20 sponsors, 50+ vendors, and participation from 85+ stakeholders, this conference is set to engage over 2,500 community members. Attendees can expect dynamic debates, roundtables, breakout sessions, an expo, an expungement clinic, civic engagement activations, a job fair, and MMJ card registration.
