Black Founders in Cannabis Panel: Advancing Equity in the Cannabis Industry

Greenish Events, in partnership with the County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce and Greenish Vibes, presents the Black Founders in Cannabis Panel. This panel will bring together a group of influential black business owners and advocates in the cannabis industry to discuss their experiences and explore the challenges and opportunities facing black entrepreneurs in the industry. The panelists include Freeway Ricky Ross, Virgil Grant, Mike Malcolm, and Cheryl Morrow. The event will take place on March 3, 2023, featuring a cocktail hour and rolling session, a panel discussion, and a Q&A session.

Advocating for the Black Community in Cannabis

The Black Founders in Cannabis Panel is the first installment of a three-part event series to serve as an advocacy exercise for the community. The panelists will facilitate a conversation around issues related to the challenges and experiences of black cannabis business owners, highlight real-life tangible barriers and successes, explore dialogue around finding one’s path in the space, and also serve to explore what allyship looks like.

Creating a Safe Space for Thoughtful Discussions

Danicka Brown-Frazier, Founder of Greenish Events and Organizer of the Black Founders in Cannabis Event Series, is determined to create a space and propel blacks to their rightful place in the cannabis industry. “Entering the cannabis industry for BIPOC is an uphill, arduous journey. I’ve made it a part of my story to champion and support my community and other hopeful entrepreneurs. This event series aids our effort in being a catalyst for the normalization of cannabis and healing our communities while encouraging thoughtful, educated discussions,” says Brown-Frazier.
