La La Anthony Joins Celebrities in LEUNE $5 Million Investment

La La Anthony is joining a group of investors in California-bred cannabis brand LEUNE. Founded by Nidhi Lucky Handa, LEUNE is forging an agenda to transcend the cannabis culture narrative.

Anthony said, “I’ve been seeking to make an investment in the cannabis space for quite some time, but never found a brand that resonated with me until I came across Nidhi and her products. …Founded by an extraordinary woman of color, LEUNE has both a mission and aesthetic that really strikes a chord.”

Anthony has joined a consortium in the investment which includes celebrities from the fields of cannabis, music, and sports. Other investors are L.A.’s Carmelo Anthony, agent Rich Paul (Anthony Davis, LeBron James), John Wall, Anthony Saleh (music manager for Future and Nas), and Yoni Meyer and Karan Wadhea, partners of Casa Verde Capital, a leading cannabis venture capital firm.

LEUNE has a core mission to battle social injustice and this has lured the likes of Anthony to take part in the company’s $5 million fund.

LEUNE’s partnered with The Last Prisoner Project, the Floret Coalition, and Eaze Momentum in its mission to shift the landscape of social justice. The effects include mentorship programs, monetary contributions, and the amplification of marginalized voices via awareness-building collaborations. This year, LEUNE launched All-in-One Vaporizer Piña DayDreamand donated all the net proceeds to the Last Prisoner Project.

Anthony is an actress, businesswoman, television personality, best-selling author, and, of course, investor. Anthony was the VJ for MTV’s Total Request Live. She went on to host Flavor of Love, For the Love of Ray J, and Real Chance of Love.

Anthony also appeared on Charm School, as well as La La’s Full Court Wedding and La La’s Full Court Life. Both series centered around her and her husband Carmelo Anthony.

As an actress, Anthony’s appeared in Two Can Play That Game, Think Like a Man and Think Like a Man 2, You Got Served, Destined, and November Rule. She went through several roles in various television shows before getting cast on the original Power series with Omari Hardwick.

LEUNE CEO Handa speaks enthusiastically about the influx of new investors. “We are thrilled that such accomplished investors will be joining us in the LEUNE-iverse. Having their support through this crucial growth stage makes a world of a difference for a brand of our size, and we look forward to building one of the leading names in cannabis together. These funds will be used to help us traverse new horizons — from exploring new products to fit the Cannabis 3.0 lifestyle to unlocking more geographies. On top of it all, we’ll also be able to grow our incredible team. It’s truly a transformational opportunity for us.”

Like the other high-profile investors, Anthony looks forward to helping reform cannabis-related injustices. “Founded by an extraordinary woman of color,” Anthony says, “LEUNE has both a mission and aesthetic that really strikes a chord.”
