Meta Verified Rolls Out in US: How to Get Verified on Instagram and Facebook

What’s the Scoop on Meta Verified?

Heads up, the Meta Verified subscription is now available after successful tests in Australia and New Zealand. Mark Zuckerberg announced that it will first roll out in the US before expanding to other regions. If you’re 18 or older and reside in the United States, Australia, or New Zealand, this could be your chance to shine on both Facebook and Instagram.

Meta Verified Costs

If you want to rock that blue check on both platforms, you’ll need to subscribe separately on Instagram and Facebook.

The subscription costs $15/month when using the mobile apps for iOS and Android, bringing the total to $30/month. However, if you subscribe via Facebook’s website, you can get it for $12/month, making it $24/month for both platforms.

Perks of Meta Verified

Here’s what you get with Meta Verified:

  • Verification: Rock the blue check and show your community it’s the real you, with a government ID-secured verification process.
  • Exclusive features: Unlock cool stickers on Facebook and Instagram Stories, Facebook Reels, and receive 100 Stars a month on Facebook to support other creators.
  • Account protection: Safeguard your account from impersonators with proactive monitoring and mandatory two-factor authentication.
  • Direct support: Get help from real people when you need it for common account issues.

The Fine Print of Meta Verified

Meta Verified might seem a bit pricey compared to Twitter Blue’s $8/month, but remember, you’ll need to subscribe separately for both platforms. To get that blue check on your Instagram and Facebook accounts, you’ll need to provide a government-issued photo ID for identity confirmation. Turning on two-factor authentication is also a must.

Once your identity is confirmed and your subscription is active, you won’t be able to change your profile name, username, date of birth, or profile photo unless you go through the verification process again.

Existing verified badge holders can also apply for a Meta Verified subscription, without any extra cost for their current verification.

Social Media Users Pretending to Have Organic  Verifications :A Trend Worth Addressing

It’s important to address the trend of people who seem genuinely surprised, thanking God, and pretending that Meta woke up one morning and decided to verify them out of the blue. Some users may be trying to save face by not admitting they opted for the Meta Verified subscription. In reality, there’s no need to “cap  for the ‘Gram or the ‘ Book.”

Remember, Meta has introduced this paid verification system, making the verification process accessible to more users. So, it’s okay to be transparent about using the Meta Verified subscription to gain that coveted blue checkmark.
