Rap Sensation Coi Leray Teams With Runtz on New Strain & Capsule

Internet sensation Coi Leray partners with Runtz to produce a line of clothes inspired by the performer’s “No More Parties.” The partnership includes the release of a Coi Leray cannabis strain.

Runtz Keeps It Moving

Runtz has smartly promoted its reputation as the leading manufacturer of legal cannabis through as many social channels as possible. They have definitely turned to fans striving to be their favorite artists. A Coi Leray Runtz collab falls right into the company’s wheelbarrow.

Runtz already produces strains with a number of music artists. Its Moneybagg brand is the ultimate hybrid designed specifically by rapper Moneybagg and Runtz mastermind Yung LB. The new strain is a genetic cross of Gelato and Zkittlez.

The company also has a partnership with Trippie Redd.

“No More Parties”

Coi Leray has quickly become a prominent figure in the game with her charting hit “No More Parties.” Words associated with the song include somber, smooth, skittering, heavenly, unique down low.

Leray is out of Hackensack, New Jersey. Her father is rapper Benzino. Dropping out of high school, she went to Los Angeles to get her recording career in gear. Things began to click in 2017 after a pair of viral singles and a full album the following year.

“No More Parties” broke the glass ceiling for the artist. Jointly released by 1801 Records and Republic Records on January 22, 2021, Leray co-wrote the song about her life and determination to be an artist of substance. The song would be CoiLeray’s first hit on Billboard.

The artist has 124 million streams on her resume. Her video “Huddy” has over a 5.6 million YouTube views. She’s collaborated with everyone from Fetty to Kiana Lede and Gunna. And now Coi Leray’s collaborating with Runtz.

Rap, Fashion, Bud: One Big Happy Family

Celebrity endorsement binds entertainment to everything from liquor to insurance. But everyone sees rap and cannabis creating new venues.

Runtz leader Yung LB sees shows for cannabis fashion in our future. “As time goes by, fashion will start to catch up. Why wouldn’t Virgil want to do it? Imagine smoking weed on the runway at Louis Vuitton. Viral, viral.”

Moving Beyond BIPOC

Once upon a day, rap and weed were forbidden venues in the mainstream. But the BIPOC community has always understood the vitality of each. Now, the increasing legalization of marijuana continues to shift the narrative.

Over the last few years, we’ve seen a great number of celebrities join the march akin to this Coi Leray Runtz team-up. But the fashion world rushes to join in. Brett Heyman, an Edie Parker designer, built her brand on elegant evening bags. She recently detoured into weed-themed design. The name of the line is Flower. Heyman calls her website “a high-end head shop.”

M Missoni teamed with Pure Beauty last year. The collaboration resulted in pre-rolled joints using the Italian design company’s zigzag pattern.

Today, we have Coi Leray partners with Runtz leading to Coi Leray cannabis. Tomorrow, Super Bowl commercials?
