STIIIZY Pomona Donation: A $293,539 Boon for Community

STIIIZY Pomona Donation

In the heart of Pomona, California, change is in the air. STIIIZY, the acclaimed cannabis retailer and brand, recently demonstrated their ongoing commitment to the community with a generous donation that will significantly impact the city’s parks and schools.

A New Dawn in Pomona: Cannabis and Community

On a sunny Friday, a lively crowd gathered at the John F. Kennedy Park. The excitement was palpable. Pomona Mayor Tim Sandoval, community representatives, and union leaders were on hand as STIIIZY’s Director of Social Impact, DeRon Waller, and Vice President of Expansion and Public Affairs, Stephanie Uy, presented a hefty check of $293,539.

More Than A Business: STIIIZY’s Commitment

Waller and Uy, who worked closely with city officials to identify needy organizations, reiterated STIIIZY’s promise to support the communities they operate in. The ceremony was a clear reflection of STIIIZY’s modus operandi: fostering a strong, collaborative bond with the local community.

Harnessing the Positive Power of Cannabis

“It’s an immense honor to revisit Pomona a year later and showcase the positive power of cannabis,” Waller said. “We are directing resources to communities impacted by the War on Drugs. This will help them heal from the devastation.”

Giving Back: A Collaborative Effort

Waller added that this initiative was a “collaborative community effort,” with city officials, activists, supporters, and collaborators rallying to enhance their hometown. STIIIZY Pomona’s operating license agreement sets aside a sales percentage for improving schools and parks within half a mile from their location. “Knowing that a part of their spending goes towards improving their backyard gives our customers satisfaction,” Waller noted.

An Uplifting Tradition

This year’s ceremony marked an $86,157 increase from STIIIZY’s donation last year, showing a steady commitment to the community’s development. The event, graced by union leaders and representatives from diverse community organizations, echoed the spirit of collective effort that STIIIZY Joint Efforts exemplifies through their various initiatives, such as neighborhood clean-ups and resource distribution.

The STIIIZY Influence

STIIIZY Pomona, situated at 1605 W Holt Ave, first opened its doors in November 2020, amid the first year of the pandemic. Despite the challenges, the store stands strong, operating seven days a week, and continues to strive towards community betterment.

STIIIZY’s donation has illuminated a fresh dawn in Pomona, uniting a city through the power of community involvement and the cannabis industry’s unexpected boon.
