Suzan Nickelson Opens First Black Woman-Owned Cannabis Shop in Waterford NJ

Suzan Nickelson, a pioneering leader in the New Jersey cannabis industry, is thrilled to announce the opening of her medical dispensary, Holistic Solutions. The dispensary, located in Waterford, NJ, has received state approval after passing all inspections and is the first and only dispensary in the area. This opening marks a significant milestone as Suzan is the first black woman and the first female to own a cannabis license in New Jersey.

Suzan has been working in the cannabis industry for over two decades, drawing inspiration from the generations of women in her family who were devoted herbalists and passed down knowledge of utilizing cannabis for healing and spirituality. Holistic Solutions, under Suzan’s leadership, is a testament to her belief in the power of cannabis as a tool for wellness and healing. The Alternative Treatment Center, with over 4,000 square feet of sales space and a range of premium THC and CBD products, will provide compassionate care and education to patients enrolled in the New Jersey Medicinal Cannabis Program. The dispensary will also support women and BIPOC-owned cannabis brands by providing ample shelf space for their products.

Suzan is also the CEO of Ital Daughters LLC, a cannabis and hemp consulting company that helps minorities, women, and veterans understand the compliance and regulatory aspects of the industry. She is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, a Rutgers University graduate, and a member of Jack and Jill of America, a membership organization dedicated to nurturing future African-American leaders. In the near future, Suzan plans to announce two other New Jersey-based cannabis ventures.

Holistic Solutions is opening with the support of its minority partner, Eastbound Collective. The Collective was formed by Patrik Jonsson, formerly the Northeast Regional President for a large MSO, and aims to collaborate with minority, veteran, and women-owned businesses in the cannabis industry. Patrik Jonsson believes that Holistic Solutions is one of the few operators with the funding, site control, and experience to capitalize on having a license and is excited to support the dispensary in providing tax revenue to the Township in 2023.

The dispensary will have limited hours for its soft opening this week, with full hours starting on February 10th. Pickup and drive-thru options will be available immediately upon opening, with delivery options starting in Spring 2023. Suzan Nickelson’s passion and dedication have brought Holistic Solutions to life, and the dispensary is poised to make a positive impact in the New Jersey cannabis scene and beyond.
