Why You Can’t Miss This

Tekken 8 Throwdown

Think you’ve got what it takes to dominate? Whether you’re a Tekken master or just here for the vibes, this tournament is for everyone. Watch as the competition heats up, or jump in and show off your skills. And here’s the kicker: Redman’s on commentary, so you know the energy will be through the roof.

Meet Redman (Yes, THE Redman)

What’s better than gaming and music? Gaming and music with Redman, the hip-hop legend and cannabis advocate who’s been breaking barriers for years. Plus, you never know who might pop up—this event is packed with surprise guests from music, gaming, and the cannabis world.

The Soundtrack: DJ Lord Sear

DJ Lord Sear, known for his work on SiriusXM’s Shade 45 and even Grand Theft Auto, will be spinning tracks that’ll have you nodding your head and feeling the vibes all night. He’s even throwing in some tracks from Redman’s new album, Muddy Waters Too.

Cannabis Vibes & Giveaways

This Is More Than Just a Party

Free The Green isn’t just about having a great time—it’s about making a difference. The United Empowerment Party is on a mission to educate, advocate, and empower communities that have been most affected by the War on Drugs. Proceeds from the event will go toward cannabis reform efforts, public education, and creating opportunities for people in these communities.

When you show up, you’re not just having fun—you’re joining a movement.

The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities (DACO), is thrilled to share the exciting news of Black Cannabis Week (BCW) 2024! Happening September 22nd – September 29th, 2024, Black Cannabis Week event organizers invite those all over the country and abroad to join them for an incredible week of education, celebration, and empowerment.

The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities and Black Cannabis Week

The Diasporic Alliance for Cannabis Opportunities is a community organization with a nonprofit fiduciary relationship with Marijuana Justice, a 501c3. Their main goal is to raise awareness about educational, wellness, and economic prospects in the cannabis industry across the diaspora. DACO strives to foster a balanced and thriving cannabis community that promotes physical and mental well-being.

Black Cannabis Week is one of DACO’s annual programming initiatives. It focuses on organizing cannabis events that span across the African diaspora. These events are hosted virtually and physically, offering opportunities for individuals to engage and participate. The primary aim of BCW is to provide a global platform that uplifts and empowers Black individuals within the cannabis industry, allowing their voices and contributions to be recognized and celebrated.

The brand’s offerings are designed to forge moments of creativity, empowerment, euphoria, and connection—pushing the boundaries of what cannabis can be.

PRECIOUS Canna Co. was born out of a desire to do more than just sell cannabis; it was created to challenge the status quo and provide representation where it’s sorely lacking. “PRECIOUS is more than just a cannabis brand; it’s a reminder that Black women can be represented in an industry that has traditionally kept us out,” says Precious Osagie-Erese, the visionary behind the brand.

As the first Black woman-owned cannabis flower brand in New Jersey, PRECIOUS is not just making history; it’s paving the way for future generations of entrepreneurs. Osagie-Erese, a nationally recognized advocate for minority representation in the cannabis industry, has infused her brand with a mission to empower, uplift, and inspire. PRECIOUS is more than a product; it’s a beacon for what’s possible when excellence meets representation.

At its core, PRECIOUS is committed to more than just business success—it’s about creating lasting change. The brand actively supports initiatives that promote social equity, education, and entrepreneurship within the cannabis industry, with a particular focus on uplifting women of color. Through strategic partnerships, mentorship programs, and community outreach, PRECIOUS is working to inspire the next generation of cannabis entrepreneurs.

The Dawn of a New Era: Happy Munkey Cannabis Brand Obtains NY Cannabis Retail License

In the ever-evolving realm of the cannabis industry, triumph comes with resilience and an unwavering commitment to advocacy. In a recent monumental development, New York-based legacy-to-legal cannabis brand Happy Munkey accomplished a significant feat, securing one of the coveted Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary (CAURD) licenses from the New York State Cannabis Control Board (NYCCB).

Breaking New Ground in the NY Cannabis Industry

On a Wednesday that marked a turning point in the landscape of legal cannabis, the NYCCB decided to expand its license pool with an additional 212 retail dispensary licenses, bringing the total to 463. Happy Munkey’s triumph in securing one of these licenses solidifies its position as a key player in the NY cannabis industry, propelling the brand into a new phase of operations.

Happy Munkey CEO and co-founder Vladimir Bautista, in a statement on Instagram, expressed honor and excitement for the recognition.

The resounding echoes of progressive reform resonate through New York, as the state undertakes groundbreaking changes to adult-use cannabis regulations. Announced on May 11, 2023, by the New York State Cannabis Control Board (CCB) and the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), these revised regulations catalyze a transformative shift from the initial regulations presented on December 14, 2022.

Pioneering Change in the Cannabis Industry

Key highlights of these refreshed guidelines underscore significant shifts in cannabis industry practices. They include amplified restrictions on ownership of Registered Organization Adult-Use Cultivator Processor Distributor Retail Dispensaries (ROD), revision of definitions surrounding “True Parties of Interest” and “Passive Investors,” and acceleration of Registered Organizations’ entry timeline into the adult-use market. Moreover, the inclusion of provisional licenses, provision for limited retail consumption areas within dispensaries, new regulations for delivery services, and permits for cannabis events accentuate the diversification of the market.

Impact on Registered Organizations

The new regulations pivot towards facilitating the entry of Registered Organizations into the adult-use market. Notably, changes in ROD licenses stand out, particularly addressing the restrictions on investment in out-of-state cannabis operators. With accelerated timelines, RODs are expected to integrate their first dispensary before December 29, 2023, and their subsequent dispensaries before June 29, 2024. This modification, coupled with adjusted fees, fosters a swift, affordable pathway for RODs into the adult-use market, offering an unprecedented opportunity for national growth.

Transforming Investor Interactions

Simultaneously, the revised regulations offer relief for investors, with modified definitions of “True Parties of Interest” and “Passive Investors,” thereby expanding the investment prospects. These changes significantly ease the financial and background scrutiny, making cannabis investment more attractive and accessible.

Introducing Provisional Licenses

Furthermore, the revised regulations introduce provisional licenses, streamlining the application process and minimizing up-front costs, making the industry more inclusive and diverse.

Evolving Retail and Delivery Landscape

New changes also venture into retail and delivery services, with the creation of “limited retail consumption areas,” offering customers the convenience to use purchased cannabis products within the dispensary. On the delivery front, the new rules define the boundaries for delivery services, ensuring safety and compliance.

Green-light for Cannabis Events

The fresh guidelines usher in new provisions for cannabis events, promoting a more social, community-centric aspect of cannabis consumption. With due compliance to age restrictions and location constraints, the doors are now open for event organizers to include cannabis sales at their events.

In conclusion, the revised regulations pave the way for an exciting era of cannabis consumption, distribution, and investment in New York. As the public comment period progresses, it will be intriguing to witness how these developments shape the future of the cannabis industry in New York and beyond.
