The Parent Company has announced its second social equity corporate venture fund investment. The company selected The Peakz Company, an Oakland cannabis brand.
This follows on the heels of the company’s first choice, Josephine & Billie’s. The two partnerships demonstrate The Parent Company’s desire to build a more equitable cannabis marketplace.
The Parent Company is California’s leader in the vertically integrated cannabis producer and its participation gives any partner a stronger footprint in the West Coast’s growing cannabis community.
Peakz will leverage The Parent Company’s extensive DTC retail locations and other resources.
Jessie Grundy is the founder of Peakz and says, “The Parent Company’s partnership will provide us with the tools to grow Peakz as a business and reach its full potential as a brand, both of which are exciting prospects in achieving my vision for the company.”
Peakz opened its doors in 2018 after Grundy acquired a distribution license through Oakland’s Social Equity Program. Entrepreneur Grundy managed the new company as a one-person operation. Grundy’s business instincts, professionalism, and strong brand vision make for the type of visionary profile The Parent Company wants to build on.
Peakz has steadily grown a following with bold strains, designs, and names, as well as with a precise understanding of weed culture, limited product runs, quality indoor genetics for highly-regarded cultivators, and appearances in influencers as Connected, Cookies, SPARC, and Dr. Greenthumb.
Peakz is planning a collaboration with the NFL’s Marshawn Lynch. This puts Peakz and the football legend’s Dodi Blunts cannabis brand on the same playing field.
