Tulsa Community College and Green Flower Join Forces to Offer Cannabis Industry Training in Oklahoma

As the cannabis industry continues to grow, so does the need for skilled professionals in various fields. To meet this demand, Tulsa Community College (TCC) has partnered with Green Flower, a leading cannabis education platform, to offer specialized training programs for those interested in pursuing a career in this field. With three certificate programs available, Dispensary Associate, Cultivation Technician, and Manufacturing Agent, TCC is providing the necessary education to enter the industry with confidence.

Flexible, On-Demand Learning

One of the key advantages of TCC’s partnership with Green Flower is the ability to offer on-demand learning. This means that students can take the courses when it’s convenient for them, making it possible to balance work and other commitments while pursuing their education. The coursework is delivered virtually, making it accessible from anywhere with an internet connection.

Certificate Programs Available

TCC’s partnership with Green Flower offers three certificate programs, each designed to prepare students for specific roles within the cannabis industry.

Dispensary Associate: This program is ideal for those interested in working in a cannabis dispensary. The curriculum covers topics such as cannabis strains, delivery methods, patient care, and legal and regulatory requirements.

Cultivation Technician: The cultivation of cannabis requires specialized knowledge and skills. This program focuses on the cultivation process, including plant anatomy, growth cycles, nutrient requirements, and pest management.

Manufacturing Agent: For those interested in the manufacturing side of the industry, this program covers topics such as extraction methods, product formulation, quality control, and packaging and labeling requirements.

Each certificate program takes 8 weeks to complete and costs $750. The online option is available for students who work full-time and can’t attend in-person classes.

The Growing Cannabis Industry in Oklahoma

The legalization of medical marijuana in Oklahoma has led to a rapid expansion of the cannabis industry in the state. According to the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority, there are over 300,000 active patients and over 9,000 licensed businesses in the state. This growth has created a demand for skilled professionals in various roles, from dispensary workers to cultivators and manufacturers.
