VIBES RELEASE PAPERS: Berner’s Bold Move for Cannabis Convicts

VIBES RELEASE PAPERS: Lighting the Path to Justice

In an era of evolving cannabis laws, a glaring contradiction persists: While more states decriminalize marijuana, tens of thousands remain incarcerated for related offenses.Responding to this stark injustice, VIBES, the industry-leading rolling paper brand birthed by rapper and entrepreneur Berner, has joined forces with the Last Prisoner Project and creative company Mother. The result? The launch of a transformative initiative: VIBES RELEASE PAPERS.

Taking a Stand: A Collaborative Campaign

This initiative centres around a unique product: the RELEASE PAPERS. These rolling papers, available from July 24th 2023 in smoke shops and online, encapsulate a powerful message. Each paper features the name of a currently incarcerated individual, turning a routine act into a potent reminder of the ongoing struggle for justice.

Speaking on the campaign, Berner stated, “So many people are still locked up with lengthy sentences related to cannabis. Campaigns like this are part of who I am. We have to speak up, support causes like Last Prisoner Project and fight for their freedom.”

Engaging the Public: Advocacy Through Action

At the campaign’s core is a call to public action. Accompanying each prisoner’s name is a QR code leading to release-papers.com. Here, supporters can sign the Cannabis Clemency Now petition, urging President Biden to release federal cannabis prisoners, and engage in a letter-writing program to the featured inmates.

Highlighted in this campaign are the cases of four individuals, each serving heavy sentences for victimless offences. Edwin Rubis, Hector McGurk, Moe Taher, and Ricardo Ashmeade represent countless others, unjustly punished and forgotten in a rapidly changing landscape of cannabis laws.

A Call to Action: Clemency Through VIBES RELEASE PAPERS

Stephanie Shepard, LPP Board Member and Director of Advocacy, asserts, “President Biden has the power to right history and free Edwin, Hector, Moe, and Ricardo with the stroke of a pen.”

The Last Prisoner Project, with the help of VIBES, tirelessly advocates for the freedom of those still incarcerated for cannabis.

A portion of profits from RELEASE PAPERS will fund the Last Prisoner Project. This initiative urges President Biden to grant clemency to individuals unduly burdened by federal cannabis-related convictions, pushing for broad-based criminal justice and drug policy reform.

Conclusion: The Path Towards Justice

VIBES RELEASE PAPERS isn’t just a product; it’s a statement, a call to action, a beacon of hope. As the landscape of cannabis legislation changes, it brings into focus a significant issue —the dire need for reform in the incarceration and sentencing of cannabis-related offences.
