Wilson Chandler’s Nobody’s Home Dispensary Brings High-Quality Cannabis and Jobs to Benton Harbor

After years of anticipation, Nobody’s Home, the cannabis dispensary owned by former NBA star and Benton Harbor native Wilson Chandler, is finally open for business. The store, located at 90 W. Main Street in Benton Harbor, offers top-quality cannabis products, an educational experience, and a commitment to providing jobs and opportunities to the Benton Harbor community.

Setting Itself Apart

Nobody’s Home aims to differentiate itself from local competition by offering an unparalleled experience, education, and high-quality products. As store manager José Maltos explains, “We’re not like everybody else. We are cannabis users and consumers of this product. We have a passion for it, so we want to be able to offer just a little but more than what everyone else is offering.”

To ensure the best quality products, Nobody’s Home partners with companies that are not typically found in the area. By keeping a low vendor list, the store can guarantee that they are not just producing products themselves to make a profit.

“We’re working with companies that you don’t see too far out here – with products you don’t see in a store that’s vertically integrated,” said Maltos. “Quality is definitely our number one thing.”

In addition to offering high-quality products, Nobody’s Home also strives to make cannabis accessible to all by being mindful of customers who are on a budget. The store’s name reflects the idea of a safe and welcoming place to gather with friends when nobody is home, providing a sense of privacy and comfort.

Creating Opportunities for the Benton Harbor Community

Nobody’s Home is committed to providing job opportunities to the Benton Harbor community, especially for people of color who have been historically overlooked or excluded from the industry. The store’s website states that it aims to “embody the values, aspirations and interests of its customers,” providing a space where everyone can feel welcome and respected.

“We’re here to build a brand,” said Maltos. “We’re here to stay.”

A Grand Opening Celebration in the Works

While Nobody’s Home is currently open seven days a week from noon to 8 p.m., a grand opening ceremony is planned for fall. The store’s website, nobodyshome.com, offers more information about the dispensary’s products, services, and commitment to the community.
