From Vending to a Clothing Store: The Certz Journey
STEPH.V had been vending in the California cannabis market before establishing his own strain, which he then brought back home to NYC. In 2019, the company opened a clothing store on the East Coast. Then, in 2021, New York legalized cannabis recreationally, enabling Certz to expand the cannabis side of the brand. Since then, Certz has become one of the largest cannabis brands on the East Coast, collaborating with Compound Genetics, DeltaBoyz, Highmart, and many more.
Beyond Cannabis: Certz Music and Merchandising
Certz is not just a cannabis brand; it also dabbles in music and merchandising. The company’s products have been praised and acknowledged by several rappers, including Rod Wave and Berner of Cookies, who enjoy cannabis. This year, the company had a busy schedule with various events, including a meetup with fans in February and a Superbowl smoke sesh. At the Superbowl sesh, attendees received a complimentary pre-roll and could enter for free in a raffle. In October, there was a members-only free taste test event at the Midtown Manhattan consumption lounge, where attendees received a free preroll upon entry.

Recently, Certz opened up the Midtown Certz Lounge, a cannabis consumption lounge in midtown Manhattan. The lounge provides a safe and inviting atmosphere for cannabis enthusiasts to consume their favorite products in a social setting.
